I’ve been hoping, praying, and working toward this day for more than a decade. It’s a bit surreal when a dream becomes a reality. But today it happened. The Storyteller Bible™ has been released!

Here is the FAQ about The Storyteller Bible™
Question: Where can I find The Storyteller Bible™?
Answer: On your computer or mobile device, head on over to www.StorytellerBible.com. You can bookmark that page for easy access later.
Question: How is this different from any other audio Bible?
Answer: There are three main differences. First…My goal from the beginning was to create an audio Bible that would truly immerse the listener in God’s Word. That’s why you will find no music or animal/wind nature noises. I love some of the dramatized Bibles. This isn’t one of them.
Second…I don’t say any of the headings or even the chapters. I begin every book by simply saying the book’s name. At the end of the book, I say, Amen. That’s it. (NOTE: When I record Psalms and Proverbs – sometime in 2019 – I will say the chapters.
Third…If you’ve seen me present a book of the Bible (see some samples on my YouTube Channel) then you know I read/speak/tell the Bible a little differently than most. While there will always be something lost in an audio-only telling of the Bible, my hope and prayer are that I have come as close as possible to have it “feel” like one of my live presentations.
Question: How much does it cost?
Answer: Nothing. Nada. Zippo. Zilch. At our last board meeting, we decided to give the whole thing away!
Question: Didn’t it cost money to create and maintain?
Answer: Yup. But we believe God wants us to give it away. I have no idea how he’s going to lead us in the future (that’s why I pray a lot and why I have a board of directors), but for the foreseeable future, it’s free. Obviously, design work, recording equipment, and web hosting cost money (not to mention hundreds of hours spent recording once it’s all said and done). If you want to support our efforts – and help keep it free! – I would be thrilled if you would partner with me by donating here.
Question: What different options and formats do you have?
Answer: At www.StorytellerBible.com you can stream whole books. You can also stream individual chapters. You can download the audiobook file (.m4b) and put it on your phone or tablet.
The beauty of the audiobook file is that iTunes will automatically put it into your “Books” app on your phone or tablet. When you listen to the audiobook, it will remember your place so you can pick up where you left off. (Kinda nice when you’re listening to one of the longer books like John or Romans!)
Question: What translation did you use for The Storyteller Bible™?
Answer: find out more hereThe Christian Standard Bible. This is a new translation that was released in 2017. It is a fantastic, accurate, readable translation. I call it the happy medium between the word-for-word accuracy of the English Standard Version and the flow and readability of the New International Version. You can find out more here.
Question: What do you have planned for The Storyteller Bible™?
Answer: What I can tell you for sure is that I am working extremely hard to have the New Testament finished as soon as possible.
After that, we will be looking at how to get The Storyteller Bible™ out to as many people as possible. That means exploring ideas like…
- Recording the Old Testament over time.
- Creating “playlists” that are different Reading Plans (e.g. A walk through the Gospels OR Paul’s letters)
- Creating an app with the various “listening plans”
- An option for people to purchase CDs or USB sticks for use in a car or Sunday school class
