I came home from my lunch meeting today as the UPS man was climbing back in his truck. I had a suspicion this might be “The Box.” Sure enough, as you can see from the picture, it was.
But I don’t want you to buy it. Ok, I want you to buy it. But not yet.
In fact, I’ll pay you to wait until next Thursday, the 18th. (Oooh…interested now?)
And there are four reasons why:
- A fun one.
- A practical one.
- A strange one.
- A hopeful one.
The Fun Reason: I like giving stuff away.
As I have been putting together the 10 Bonuses (you can check them out here) I have been getting more and more excited. Giving stuff away is a blast. And I truly am grateful that you take the time to read what I write. Time is valuable. Your time is valuable. The fact that you give me some of yours is not something I take lightly. Think of the bonuses as my way of saying, “Thank you. I hope we get to keep hanging out for a long time.”
The Practical Reason: I’m not ready.
This has been quite a process. Making things simple is often difficult. I want to make sure that getting the bonuses and using the bonuses is as easy as possible. It also had to be secure. I explored a bunch of different ways to upload, store, and deliver the bonuses. I think I’ve landed on a method that will be super easy for you. That all took time. Now we’re testing it out to make sure we’ve thought of everything before the 18th. (I’m sure we missed something. Can I ask for grace ahead of time?)
The Strange Reason: Books publishing is an odd business.
I don’t understand how it all works. Maybe I will someday. Probably not. In any event, rumor has it that if a book sells a lot (whatever that means) in a short amount of time (usually a week), then that book will show up better in search results (especially on Amazon) over the long haul. I have no idea if it’s true, but I’ve heard it from several people who have sold heaps more books than I have. I trust them, so I’m giving it a whirl.
The Hopeful Reason: I want to get the word out that the Bible is awesome.
I believe in this book. I am passionate about helping you like the Bible.
If you like it, you will read it. If you like it, you will apply it. If you like it, you will remember it. If you like it, you will fall in love with the Author. (Which is really the point, wouldn’t you say?)
I want to reach as many people with this message as possible. I have also played sports long enough to know that momentum is an intangible, but very real thing. I want this book to gain some momentum. Maybe even a lot of momentum.
But not just for me. I want this book to change people. To change you. To change your neighbor who doesn’t know Jesus, or the guy that’s been coming to your church for two decades. I believe it can.
I believe you can like the Bible.
Here’s the link again if you want to check out the bonuses. They’ll be waiting for you on the 18th. Until then, tell someone about 10 Tips. You can Tweet It, or share this link (www.keithferrin.com/10tips) on Facebook, email, on a Tshirt, a bumper sticker…
If you’d like me to send you a reminder, you can enter your email address in the form below.
Oh…and would you please say a quick prayer. I’m sure Satan doesn’t like my book. He doesn’t want a bunch of people starting to like the Bible. (But he doesn’t win. I’ve read the ending. It’s outstanding!)
