It was Wednesday night and I was getting ready for bed. Thirteen days had passed since I kicked off a fundraiser – announcing that I was looking to raise $5,000 in two weeks. Things started out quite strong. But now it was barely more than 48 hours before the deadline and we had plateaued just below $2,000.
Then it started. I checked my email one last time before turning in for the night and there was a donation. It put us over the $2,000 mark. Still a long way to go. But progress nonetheless.
All I can say is that the next 48 hours were amazing! The support just started pouring in. $10. $250. $25. $100. $50. Even $1,000!
Then it happened. Last night at 9:24pm. Walking back to my car after watching my nephew play in the Little League City Championship Game. I turned on my phone and noticed there was an email. It was two-hours-and-thirty-six minutes before the deadline. A donation came in from some friends who knew me before I even started That You May Know Ministries. The note in the “comments” section of the receipt said, Hope we’ve pushed you over the top.
They had. By $25.
To all of you who donated…Thank you. To all of you who prayed…Thank you. To all of you who sent encouraging emails, commented on Facebook and Twitter, or gave me a call…Thank you. To all of you…Thank you.
My cup runneth over…
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his powerthat is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Eph. 3:20-21)
