The Easiest Way to Create – and Share – Bible Pictures

Have you ever come across a Bible verse and thought “That would be perfect for my son/daughter/spouse/friend/etc…”? Do you like the Bible pictures where someone combines a verse with a cool photo? Did you realize you can create one of those in under 60 seconds? (With an app you already have on your phone.)

Rather than taking a bunch of screenshots and writing a bunch of text, I decided to shoot a 3-minute video where I show you how to create it. (I probably take 90 seconds to create the image because I’m showing you the options and talking at the same time. You’ll be able to do it in less than a minute.)

Give it a try.

And here are a few I created to get you started…

My 1-on-1 Interview with Christy Beam

If you’re looking for a movie that will inspire you, make you laugh, make you cry, and make you think about God’s right-by-your-side-even-in-the-suffering presence – you need to go see Miracles From Heaven. Oh…and you can watch it with your entire family. (Kari and I recently watched it with our three kids and they all loved it.)

Miracles from Heaven opens today – March 18, 2016.

Here is an inspiring interview with @ChristyBeam the real-life mom from #MiraclesFromHeaven

All 14 Thanksgiving Bible Pictures – to Save, Print, or Share.

Lots of you told me you enjoyed the Thanksgiving Bible Pictures from a few weeks ago. (I’m glad.) Some people went through each picture and saved them. Others printed and laminated them. Others turned them into a screensaver on their computers. I love it when people take my ideas and do even more than I do!

[featured-image single_newwindow=”true” alt=”Download, print, share, or save all 14 Thanksgiving Bible Pictures. “]

I decided to make it really simple to save, print, or share one – or all – 14 pictures.

Option 1: Save the pictures

NOTE: This will apply to Option 2 and Option 3a. [Read more…] about All 14 Thanksgiving Bible Pictures – to Save, Print, or Share.

Bibliotheca– A Beautiful New Reading Bible

There is a big problem. And it plagues most of us. Here’s how you can tell if it’s affecting you: You sit down to read your Bible. You open your Bible and begin reading. Twenty minutes later you realize you have spent fifteen minutes reading the notes, looking at the maps, and examining the charts and only five minutes actually reading the Bible!

[featured-image single_newwindow=”true” alt=”If you’re looking for a Bible the makes you WANT to read (not just study), you need to check this out! “] [pinit button_type=”one” count=”horizontal” url=”https://keithferrin.com/bibliotheca-a-beautiful-new-reading-bible” image_url=’https://keithferrin.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Bibliotheca-Square.jpg” description=”If you’re looking for a Bible the makes you WANT to read (not just study), you need to check this out!  “]

The Problem: Our study Bible frequently gets in the way when we are simply trying to read the Bible.

I have written many times about being a recovering Ping Pong Reader. (In case you’re not family with the term, a Ping Pong Reader is someone who feels a moral obligation – wink – to read the corresponding note anytime you see a bold letter “a” or “b” when reading the Bible. Oh…you too?!) In fact, I dedicated a whole episode of the podcast to this issue and the myths we start to believe when we do it.

Adam Greene is a book designer and graphic artist who has created a new Bible, specifically designed to help people read the Bible.

It’s called Bibliotheca. He launched it with a KickStarter campaign and a goal to raise $37,000. The campaign closed Sunday, with $1,440,435 donated! [Read more…] about Bibliotheca– A Beautiful New Reading Bible

A Digital Storytelling Resource You Should Check Out

Remember the flannel graph? Characters cut out. Placed on a board covered with flannel. Welcome to my childhood.

I’m certainly not knocking the flannel graph, but let me ask you…

What would a “Digital Flannel Graph” look like?

Eikon3

I think it would look like Eikon Bible Art. (Though you won’t find the word “flannel” on their website. I checked.)

Their tagline is “Stunning graphics for all forms of children’s ministry.”

Give Me 4 Minutes and 32 Seconds and You WILL Be Inspired

I didn’t quite know what to expect when I saw the title of this link (posted on my Facebook Page this week):

spokenword-logo2013 Ivy League SpokenWord Bible Memorization Challenge

When I hear phrases like “Bible Memorization Challenge” and I picture people quoting vast amounts of Scripture without putting much emotion or passion into it.

Learn it. Recite it. Forget it.

Combine that with “Ivy League” and I’m thinking, Holy smokes! This is going to be a whole lot of ultra-smart 20-year-olds “out quoting” each other and then talking about the Bible with a lot of intellectual reverence.

Man, was I wrong!

This was outstanding! Their passion was infectious. Their presentations were engaging. Every one of them. Some were solo presenters. Sometimes they presented as a team.

The winning presentation was by Josh Echebiri, a junior at Dartmouth. Take the next 4:32 and check it out: [Read more…] about Give Me 4 Minutes and 32 Seconds and You WILL Be Inspired
